Doug dan Lois Riley (James Gandolfini dan Melissa Leo) telah tumbuh terpisah sejak kehilangan putri remaja mereka delapan tahun sebelumnya. Meninggalkan istri agoraphobic di belakang untuk pergi pada perjalanan bisnis ke New Orleans, Doug bertemu seorang pelarian 17 tahun (Kristen Stewart) dan membentuk dua ikatan platonis.
