Chatroom started life as a stage play, performed at the National Theatre by the highly acclaimed stage and screen writer, Enda Walsh. The film explores the relationship of a group of teenagers who meet online. The dark character-driven story written by Walsh in 2005 received positive reviews when it was performed, with The Times calling it a "60 minute masterpiece, a computer-age Lord of the Flies. The writing is taut, vivid, cool, scary and often funny."
